From entrepreneurial master class clinics to digital publishing micro-conferences and a next level digital content creation workshop that drew together vocalists, spoken word artists and digital music creators, the first phase of Scripts and Bars was packed with exciting and valuable learning experiences.

This next level digital content project saw 100 creatives from the UK and Zimbabwe learn from industry experts and veterans how to run their own creative businesses, present, and produce digital content for radio, leverage blockchain technology and NFTs to promote their work and best of all, collaborate across borders to produce some new content.

Participants benefited from networking opportunities at cocktail and mixer events where they were treated to live spoken word performances from their peers and music performance by special guest, Zimbabwean Afro-soul sensation, Bryan K.

Now, after a successful first run, Scripts and Bars is back for its second half. And it’s going to be even more exciting than before.

What’s In Store

Leveraging on the continual buzz about NFTs and blockchain technology, virtual reality and the Meta-verse, the second phase of Scripts and Bars will be focusing on assisting young creatives in creating content for these rising digital platforms, whilst also helping them level up on their creative hustle.

The second phase of Scripts and Bars runs from May to September and will feature an exciting array of events and activities that include:

  • Digital Content Creation Workshops
  • Intercity-residencies
  • Mentorship Sessions
  • Exhibitions and Mixers
  • Radio-Take Overs
  • Twitter Space Discussions

Under Scripts and Bars, a total 100 creatives and professionals from the music and literature sectors will once again be presented with the opportunity to gain practical skills in digital content creation, develop their entrepreneurial skills, collaborate to produce next level digital content and receive grants to create digital content.

Creatives across sectors will have the opportunity to learn about content creation from leading influencers and content creators from Zimbabwe and the UK , join in on online mentorship and training sessions and showcase some of their work on radio and upcoming conferences and exhibitions.

There will also be some exciting exhibitions and conferences open to the public. Follow the #ScriptsandBars on social media to receive updates and communication on the project.
